The Downeaster is the original Harbor Farm wreath, first made on the coast of Maine in 1986. Its design has barely changed since: fresh balsam, natural pinecones, bright red cherries, and a classic red velvet bow tied at the bottom. There's something wonderfully nostalgic about it, like a Christmas wreath from an old family photograph.
We hand-tie each wreath with fresh Maine balsam fir the same day the greenery arrives at our shop, then ship it fresh from Maine. Balsam is prized for its fragrance, so opening the box is part of the experience. Before the wreath ever reaches the front door, the whole box smells like Christmas. With proper care, customers regularly tell us theirs are still looking beautiful well past New Year's.
