Our Original wreath was the very first wreath design we began making at Harbor Farm back in 1986, and it's still our most popular! It's a traditional Maine wreath that's decorated the way people in Maine have done for many generations - by hiking into the woods to harvest balsam fir and natural items to make and decorate their own wreaths. Each Fall we collect all of the fluffy white reindeer moss, eastern white pine cones, and plump acorns and horse chestnuts we need for our season from the Maine woods. Then the nuts are drilled and picked, the pinecones are wired, and the moss wrapped onto picks, all by hand! It's truly a labor of love and we're proud to be one of the last wreath companies in Maine to keep this tradition alive!

We Sustainably Harvest Our Evergreens
We use only the tips of the evergreen branches to make our wreaths. This process of harvesting foliage is known as "tipping." This is beneficial to the trees, similar to pruning, resulting in fuller and more vigorous growth.
I have received this wreath for many, many years and it is always perfect and lasts a really long time! My father started this tradition, sending it to many family and friends to share a little Maine with those not fortunate enough to live here. I now have my own list and my recipients love it too.
