Wooden Toys from Bogorodskoye

The art of woodcarving began over three hundred years ago in Bogorodskoye, a small village in the Moscow region of Russia. The townspeople used traditional techniques that evolved into their own signature style that is recognizable and sought-after today. Traditionally, elders teach their carving skills and secrets to the younger members of the family.

The carving is done freehand, without any plans. Typical toys feature miniature human-like animal figures with moving parts to show them at work or play. Carved in soft wood (such as alder, aspen or lime), the toys may be painted or left natural.

Bingo:

A brand new twist on an old favorite. Our various bingo games combine fun with education. Each box contains 6 picture boards, 42 informative cards, and chips. Great for 2-6 players, ages 3 to adult.

How To Play:

One Player is the caller.
Distribute picture boards among the players, and decide which bingo you want to play.
Mark free spot with a chip.
The caller holds up one card at a time. If the card picture matches a picture on your board, you put a chip on that picture.
The first player to get bingo yells out a fun word or phrase having to do with the version of bingo being played. For example, if playing Weather Bingo, the person with bingo would yell out "Tornado."

A neat stocking stuffer. Thirty-seven pieces in three wooden sheets to be knocked out and assembled into a three dimensional deer, or other animal. The wooden sheets are 9" x 7 1/4" and together are about 3/8" thick. Assembly instructions are included.
