ICHIHARA POTTERY

Takashi Ichihara creates beautiful pottery using wood ash. The type of wood that is used to make the ash determines the color of the glaze. The warm brown of the clay comes through the rich blue glaze along the edges of every piece.

He has always admired the ancient pottery of many cultures, and looked back to those traditions for inspiration.

Ichihara was born and raised in Japan where he and his American born wife studied the art of making pottery before moving to the United States.
