Powder Room

At the end of the main hall, a right turn leads past the guest powder room to the conservatory. The powder room floor carries the MSE Cypress in 4 X 8s around the border. Inboard from that, there is a course of raised relief tiles, 3" wide, with a geometric pattern in dark green and brown, also from the MSE Series. The center of the floor is in honed Aspendos stone, a light beige colored, natural limestone with a pitted surface suited to the character of the house.

The high wainscot is topped by a border of hand made 4 X 6 tiles with their own raised relief borders in dark green. Plain “go-betweens” separate batches of 1, 2, or 3 tiles with beautifully rendered raised relief sandpipers. HF’s TEM Series.

To provide just the right character for the simple tiling of the wall below them, hand made extruded tiles from H.F.’s AS Series are laid straight. They support the effect of the sandpiper tiles because their character derives from their own hand crafted appearance.

The sink is an imported Italian model with plenty of space for a purse to be set down. A tilting oval English imported mirror accommodates guests of all sizes. H.F.

Soap is prevented from making a mess by a magnetic soap holder. H.F.

Thresholds throughout the house are bluestone, either honed or polished. H.F.
