Wireless Weather & Date Station: A Really Nifty Gift
Ours sits on our kitchen table. First thing each morning, we check ambient air temperature both outside and inside, get a fix on the day's date, check the time, if we haven't already done that before getting as far as the kitchen. We've always had an outdoor thermometer but this device, right on the kitchen table is highly convenient.
There are two pieces to it - the one such as is on our kitchen table and a small piece that is in a clip screwed to the wall outside. There is nothing to connect the two.
An instruction booklet comes with the package. The indoor "Temperature Station" uses two AAA, IEC LR3 1.5V batteries. And the outdoor sensor uses two
AA, IEC LR6, 1.5V batteries. Batteries are available at Harbor Farm If we send a gift from you to someone else, we will include the necessary batteries.
Four Function Spinner: How About That?
This little device doesn't look like much, but turn it up to read "Calendar" on top and it gives you the date at the top of its screen in relatively small type, the time in the middle in bigger type, and, at the bottom, it lists the days of the week and causes the correct day to flash.
Now, turn it to read "Temperature" on top, and it will immediately give you the ambient temperature wherever it is in either degrees F or degrees C. You select F or C by pressing the UP button on the back.
Then, turn it to read "Timer" and you get two digit spaces for minutes and two for seconds, so you can set the timer for up to 99 minutes and 59 seconds, and it will beep when the time is up. You use the "SET" button on the back to select minutes to set, or to select seconds to set, to start the count down, and to stop the action.
Finally, you can turn the little gadget to read "Alarm" and you will get a screen with four digits - 2 for minutes and 2 for seconds. You use the "UP" button on the back to set the alarm time, by hours and minutes. Use the "SET" to activate the alarm action.
The "Spinner" uses 2 AAA batteries.
