A stone, tumbled by the sea or a river, is collected and mounted on a well-made rubber and metal bottle stopper. When a stone is collected, another stone - a rough one bought from a quarry - is put in its place to be tumbled for future generations.
To complete both the charm and the usefulness, a nice little base goes along with the stopper. The base is a slice, a little over an inch, out of a branch. It has its bark on it and the sawn top reveals its growth rings. The wood used is also replaced by trees that are planted every year.
