It has the durability of stoneware because that's what it is. It has the wonderful down-to-earth look of wood fired pottery, although it is fired in a gas kiln. and it has the character of wood ash glaze because the glaze is wood ash.
The spruce tree decoration on each piece, was an idea of sylvia Huntington, whose work is all over our store. She did a water color of the two spruces of our log. That was the basis of the trees which appear on each piece of pottery. It is fired into the glaze.
