We've long sung the praises of our pewter lapel pins and our pewter earrings. We like pewter because it is what it says it is. It is an alloy - in this case of tin, antimony, and copper, but it is a real, old fashioned metal, and it permits items to be made at prices a fraction of what silver or gold would cost.
This particular pewter comes from a company started in 1755. For these pins, wax molds are carved from which permanent molds are made. The colored fills are enamel, which is put in by hand.
