BLUE STONE TERRACES, PATIOS, AND PATHS
This is at the back of our own house. Our
terrace is natural cleft blue stone in earth
tones. The base of the house is clad in 21/2"
thick granite slabs, 12" x 18", but the retaining
wall of the terrace is field stone from the old
basement, giving it an informal appearance.
Granite steps lead down from the terrace to
a lower terrace and on down the bluestone path
of the arbor.
At either side, the bluestone pavers give
way to cobbled stoned areas. One side leads
down field stone steps to a wide granite cobbled
"tractor path" with the occasional field
stone let into it for a little whimsy.
The flower beds are edged with bluestone
curbing, narrow pieces of varying lengths,
with only the top natural cleft, two sides sawn.
We have no tumbled bluestone pavers at our
house, but they are outside the school house
front door, and there's a panel in the showroom.
